An overview of the 3 year programme of study for Junior Cycle
Most students complete the level 3 Junior Cycle over their 1st 3 years of secondary school. Students typically study 9 subjects and 2 short courses. Wellbeing courses are also studied. Some students complete courses at level 1 or level 2.

- Students complete exams, and Classroom Based Assessments
- Students studying at Levels 1 and 2 complete Priority Learning Units and Short Courses
- Junior Cycle Profiles of Achievement are created and awarded in the student’s 4th year, after completing Junior Cycle
